Description

It�s always fun receiving an art delivery but even more so when you recover memories of your youth, in this case from the 1970s!

Fleetway published a string of digest-sized war comics with colour covers and B&W interiors from around 1958 (year of my birth) through to the early 1980s. In Australia, you could find these mini comics at every newsagency and they were a fun read for youngsters growing up.

I remember these titles/stories vividly, so I was delighted to win a recent Heritage auction featuring this painted cover by Spanish artist Jordi Penalva for War Picture Library #766 (1978) with a story titled �Second Chance�! Very happy 😃

Great compact focus on the human action! Penalva tilts the angle to make it look like the guy is falling forward with even greater momentum!
