I absolutely love the Shadow, and I also love classic illustration, so this unusual drawing of the Shadow by iconic American comics artist, illustrator, and portraitist Kinstler really caught my attention. Drawn on a 2008 New Year's message, Kinstler renders the classic vigilante in pencil and blue wash.

The personalized letter adds to the expressive personality of the Shadow drawing. It gives us the mood of Kinstler while creating this portrait, thus giving us a portrait of himself in the process.
