DescriptionOver the years, I've had the good fortune and pleasure to own more than a few ASM covers by John Romita Sr and although several remained in my collection for years they eventually managed to end up in other collections. So when I finally decided to cut the one cover loose I'd kept the longest (ASM #59), the main condition was another example I'd finally keep had to be part of the equation. And here we have that expression in ASM #81 --although it's the first appearance of a classic yet not quite major villain, imho it's one of the sharpest renderings by JR Sr. John was really on fire during this period and produced some of his best work (along with plotting the script to this issue)!Side note, I had the pleasure of meeting John a couple years ago at the Society of Illustrators, and he described to me how the Kangaroo came about while holding the cover (see add'l pic) Social/Sharing |

Ah yes The Kangeroo :) Highly dynamic cover with cinematic Spider-Man action. Prime Romita ASM!

Only you could roll out with a classic ASM cover on a random Tuesday. I just love it. Look at Jazzy Johnny pouring over his great accomplishment. You can't beat that.
