Signature: Not signed (consistent with Schoenherr’s interiors)

Provenance: Heritage Auctions, 2025. Received framed under glass, not examined outside of frame.
Condition: Wear and production markings in keeping with Schoenherr’s illustration and publishing process; board edges not inspected due to current matting.

Historical Context:
John Schoenherr was a Hugo Award–winning illustrator, renowned for his moody, organic depictions of science fiction. Best remembered for visualizing Frank Herbert’s Dune, he also contributed hundreds of interior illustrations to Analog. This artwork accompanied Jerry Pournelle’s early short fiction, situating it at a crossroads of two major genre voices—Schoenherr shaping visual imagination, Pournelle beginning his career as a novelist and essayist.

Like submarines doing battle in space! The textures are a great feature to sell these as cylindrical shapes.
