Jim Starlin is a seminal American comic book writer‑artist whose career began in the early 1970s. He is best known at Marvel for pioneering cosmic stories and reviving characters such as Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock, while creating iconic figures like Thanos, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, and Shang‑Chi. His breakthrough came with Iron Man #55, introducing Thanos and Drax, followed by a sweeping multi-title saga across Captain Marvel, Warlock, and culminations like The Infinity Gauntlet trilogy.

Matt “Batt” Banning is a Canadian comic book inker who first gained acclaim in the mid‑1990s at Top Cow, working on titles like Cyberforce, The Darkness, and Ascension, the latter of which he co‑created. After Top Cow, he inked high-profile Marvel and DC titles—including New Avengers and Thor for Marvel, and Superman/Batman, Justice League, Green Lantern Corps, and Superman/Wonder Woman during DC's New 52 era.
