Description

Commissioned this piece from Paul Ryan at the San Diego Comic Con in 2001. Paul was taking commissions at the Con and was excited (per his lovely wife Linda) to create this piece for me after I suggested an epic battle between The Son of Odin vs. the Last Son of Krypton!

I have been meaning to share this piece for quite some time and unfortunately I'm finally posting this artwork after hearing of Paul's unexpected passing yesterday 3/6/16. I actually had to take the framed artwork off the wall to take a picture of it this morning.

At the San Diego Con(2001) I remember seeing Paul proudly sitting with industry greats Stan Lee and John Buscema at a panel celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Fantastic Four! Paul Ryan definitely left his mark on the comic industry, but more importantly as a friend to so many of us fans! Thank you for the memories and all the great artwork! RIP my friend.
