Description

A piece of hand-painted preliminary poster artwork from the promotion of Frank Oz's and Jim Henson's fantasy film The Dark Crystal.

Featuring a unique world entirely of Henson's and Oz's creation, this cult classic concerned the quest of a Gelfling boy named Jen to repair the titular Dark Crystal and restore balance to his planet, Thra.

Italian artist Bruno Napoli was commissioned to design the film's European poster, with this piece being one of the final concepts considered by the production before they settled on the final version. Hand-painted by Napoli, it differs only slightly from the final design. The same characters are present, and their poses and positioning are almost exactly the same, although the color tones were altered for the final version. Dimensions: 13.25" x 10" (33.75 cm x 25.5 cm)
