Description

A storyboard depicting an advancing All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT walker) hand-drawn by renowned visual effects art director Joe Johnston during pre-production on Irvin Kershner's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. In one of the original trilogy's most memorable sequences, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) led Rogue Squadron in a fleet of Snowspeeders to take down AT-ATs and protect the Rebel base on Hoth.

This storyboard is rendered, dated "2-14-79," and signed in ink and watercolors by Johnston. It is applied to a backing slate along with other cut-outs, including a description of the intended visual effects shots as well as one numbering the shot as "M146." Adhesive from the cut-outs has bled through the backing paper, which also exhibits yellowing from age. Dimensions: 11" x 8.5" (28 cm x 21.75 cm)
