Description

A hand-drawn Ralph McQuarrie Ovion character design from the series Battlestar Galactica. The Ovion insectoid race opened bars and casinos after having settled on Carillon following being conquered by the Cylon Empire, who subjugated them. They mined the fuel, tylium, for the Cylon Empire on the planet Carillon, the largest tylium mine in the area. Carillon had a chancery/resort on the planet to ensnare unsuspecting victims, so that they could be processed for food, and were the entire center of the mystery that comprised the back-half of OG BSG's pilot.

This design is closely similar to the design of the bounty hunter 4-LOM (Chris Parsons) from Irvin Kershner's The Empire Strikes Back.

This lot consists of a hand-drawn Ovion character design created by well known artist Ralph McQuarrie rendered in mixed media on tracing paper alongside his handwritten signature. This lot exhibits discoloration. Dimensions: 10" x 13" (25.5 cm x 33 cm)
