Ben Brown and David Gantz - The Purple Claw #2 “The Killer in the Snow” Page 14, Pre-code horror/suspense; (Minoan/Toby - 1953)

A skiing party is confronted with a killer snowman - avenging his murder years ago. One by one the wrongdoers meet their icy fate. Dr. Jonathan Weir aka "The Purple Claw" can only save himself.
A classic pre-Code horror/suspense story. The Purple Claw features a regular character who experiences supernatural adventures and fights the paranormal using a glove, known as the "Purple Claw," which grants its wearer extraordinary powers (a superhero!). The series lasted just three issues but is well-known among genre collectors. This adventure was reprinted in Tales of Horror #10.

Una squadra di sciatori si scontra con un pupazzo di neve assassino, che vuole vendicare il suo omicidio avvenuto anni prima. Uno dopo l'altro, i malfattori incontrano il loro gelido destino. Il Dr. Jonathan Weir, alias "L'Artiglio Viola", può solo salvare se stesso.
Classica storia horror del periodo pre-codice. A differenza di altre testate con storie autoconclusive quella di The Purple Claw presenta un personaggio fisso che vive avventure soprannaturali e combatte il paranormale tramite un guanto, detto appunto “Artiglio Viola”, che conferisce a chi lo indossa dei poteri straordinari, se vogliamo è una sorta di supereroe dell’occulto! La serie è durata appena tre numeri ma è abbastanza conosciuta dai collezionisti del genere. Questa avventura fu ristampata nel n.10 di Tales of Horror.

Some classic 50's lurid tales of horror that made audiences gasp! The shock value is great and satisfies the audience's need to see the injustices be corrected by supernatural forces!
