It reminds me of the poster for The Thing but I like the more mystical themes of this one. Big congrats!
I feel the same way, there are definite comparisons here (and also this Creature from the Black Lagoon poster) but this one really drives home the other-worldness of the movie. Thanks for checking it out!
Also Forbidden Planet.
wow, a Struzan masterwork of a movie poster painting! huge congrats - if your collecting career is over after this, it's a pretty awesome cherry on top!
At some point we're just happy with what we have, right? I'm not sure if that's how it actually works :D
Ha, that's the hope I suppose...not necessarily the "reality" ;-)
The turbulant power of the cosmic elements and all of nature's particles all organized by Struzan to bring classic Hollywood shine!
Absolutely beautiful painting!
And you are the undisuputed expert in this area! Thank you!
Terrific. Struzan's poster art was the best thing associated with this movie.
That is no lie, it's a pretty messed up flick.
Congrats, brother. I love it.
Totally agreed, super similar to that one as well. If he did use Bo Derek as the reference for this one I'm totally fine with that!
Congratulations on this get! Such an amazing piece of art that I'm sure will be studied and cherished for quite a while in your collection.
Thanks brother!
Yo never can say the end... but I understand your feeling. You got something that quenches you! Nice feeling, nice emotion! Huge congrats! Stellar piece!
Nothing short of stunning! I don't know how you could top this. Congrats!
A blue star sapphire gem!
Awesome addition
Unbelievable! How cool to have the art to a Drew Struzan movie poster! Never saw this movie, but who cares, the art is fantastic! Strange imagery, with this bikini-cald woman unconscious in the arms of a being that isn't there--we see no head except a glowing ball and his body seems to be part of the sky. Then behind them there's this fireball that looks like a rooster or maybe its just fire. But hey, this is art by the guy who did the posters for Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and Back to the Future! For me that's more impressive than the Mona Lisa. Damn dude, I'm impressed. And I don't impress easily. Phenomenal pick-up, congrats!
I'm glad you feel that way about it too Bill! I'll be dead honest, Incubus as a movie does not hold some special place in my heart. In fact it's one of the most disturbing horror movies I've ever seen. But the imagery of this piece far outstrips the film, and yeah, it's a frickin' Struzan!
As usual, thanks for stopping by and dropping some kind words in my gallery, you're much appreciated.
Never even heard of the movie, but amazing painting!
