I like this version more as the black ink connects from panel to panel to the main figures. No breaks like in the final image with digitally added screentone.
I had not noticed that difference until you pointed it out. Now that I see it, I agree.
Just another typical day at the minibar... What the...?!?!? Some beautiful storytelling with the "gotcha" reveal of Argent at the end. Hester, Parks, and Wagner do an awful lot with so little. Fantastic creative team - great grab, Earl!
I have a had time deciding if my favorite pages from this story are the Argent pages or the Grendel/Hunter pages. Each four-page set fabously reveals each character's true identity, and gives us varied looks at them.
That's fantastic! I didn't notice that the Argent and Hunter pages were perfectly split - 4 each! Shame on me! That fits so beautifully into the pattern that Matt has gone to such great pains to establish from the start; that these rivals are as equally matched as the primal forces they represent - good and evil. The 4 & 4 split deliberately plays into Wagner's larger themes and patterns - awesome. Bravo!
(And you're totally right! I was doing the same thing as I was looking at these pages, wondering if I liked the Argent or Grendel pages more... but didn't consider the 4/4! I also didn't have an answer... :) )
