Dampyr #32 (2002) pages 13-14: Human cattle

A van full of illegal immigrants rumbles through the Swiss countryside:

“Take heart, my love. We’ll have crossed the border soon, and a new life will begin for us.”

“I know... I’m just tired...”

“If you think we’ll be welcomed as honored guests where we’re going, you’re sorely mistaken. It’s illegal immigrants like us who face the greatest risks. Hey, we’re stopping.”

“So soon? Weren’t we supposed to travel all night?”

“Get out! Hurry up. Follow me. Don't make me repeat myself. Come on.”

“Yes, we're coming.”

“That way.”

“Come, dear.”

“Go in there. You can rest before we set off again. Got it?”

The national origin of these refugees is not specified, but in the late 1990s, the wars which dissolved Yugoslavia scattered 2.4 million refugees across Europe.
