Description

This is the way. With the highly anticipated third season of The Mandalorian premiering tomorrow, I thought it�d be appropriate to post this piece today.

In 2019, Mondo partnered with Walt Disney Records and released the complete Season One soundtrack to The Mandalorian in the form of a beautifully designed, limited edition vinyl box set. The set has 8 LP records (Scores for each of the 8 chapters) with individual covers gracing artist Paul Mann�s gorgeous paintings. Each vinyl covers are unique, featuring some of the characters and scenes tied to the episodes. Mann�s painting style, reminiscent of the nostalgic 70�s action movie posters and novel covers complement the blaster slinging Mandalorian.

This painting was on the Chapter 1 "The Mandalorian" vinyl cover. It was used as the very first teaser artwork for the vinyl box set before its release and became the key promotional art for Mondo�s advertisements. The painting measuring 20� x 20� was illustrated with acrylics.

The Ludwig Göransson score brought back old school western and samurai inspired Star Wars for Mando. This painting has the same spirit and taps into the roots of what made the series so compelling even without the sensation of the baby appearing.

Agreed! Göransson's score for Mandalorian is so recognizable and catchy. No other composer besides the great John Williams has accomplished this for Star Wars spin-off films or live-action series.

Oh yeah! What better way to do a cover for the Mandalorian soundtrack album than a movie poster-type painting? This piece, by illustrator Paul Mann includes much of what we like about the show. (But I miss Baby Yoda)
