Description

This incredible Rancor illustration by the legendary concept artist Ralph McQuarrie is a preliminary painting for the packaging of Galoob Toys� unproduced Rancor Pit Action Fleet playset. After it was approved, McQuarrie began working on another larger final piece, but stopped a third of the way during the underpainting process due to the cancellation of the Rancor playset. It never got completed, so this is the only painted example. McQuarrie created several gorgeous packaging artworks for Galoob from late 1995 to 1997. The collaboration with Galoob was McQuarrie�s last Star Wars related project. Both the Rancor preliminary and unfinished paintings are published in the comprehensive 2-volume book set titled Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie. Acme Archives also turned this piece into a limited edition giclee print.

Ever wonder how mad my wife gets when I leave the toilet seat up? Wow, this is a great piece. Ralph was such a huge part of creating the Star Wars universe and this painting is special
