DescriptionI'm a huge fan of both Mike Golden and Jackie Chan, so this was a must have. This is also an unpublished page from the cancelled fifth issue. I'd love to see him finish this mini-series.CORRECTION: I have been informed by Mr. Golden's rep that this is NOT a Golden original, it is a Rick Magyar inked original. It was done independent of the original Golden pencils. Understandably, I am disappointed and angry. I purchased this page on ebay from someone who claimed to selling it for Mr. Magyar. I don't have any contact info for the seller, but I thought I would warn other collectors to be very cautious of any page coming from this series. If you want to be sure, contact Golden's rep at: www.evainkpublishing.com Social/Sharing |

I agree with you regarding Spartan X. I've never been a huge Jackie Chan fan, but I loved Golden's interpretation of Chan and the other various characters he choose to populate this little known gem of a series.

Ofcourse I respect the info given to you by Golden's rep, but something doesn't seem right to me. There are some very "Michael Golden" elements on this page that jump out at me (such as the composition of panel 2 and the rendering of faces in panel 2 and panel 3, as well as the writing on the top of the page that looks very much like the style of lettering that Golden uses to identify his other artwork). There are some faces and folds in the bottom panel that sort-of/kind-of match Golden's style as well...it might be that Rick M. matched Golden's style perfectly (but if he could do that, I am surprised he hasn't made a career out of it!), or it might be that he was working off Mr. Golden's loose layouts. Either way, it is a cool page!

For clarification, this art was copied (traced or lightboxed) onto a separate board by Magyar which he then inked. The Golden pencils do exist somewhere I would think.
