Page 2 of 4 from the second-ever Hellboy story, created to promote the miniseries and introduce the character to the public. This story was published in Comics Buyer’s Guide #1070 (May 1994), shortly after the 1993 San Diego Comic-Con, where the first 4-page story debuted in San Diego Comic-Con Comics #2 (August 1993).

Both inaugural stories were colored by Matt Hollingsworth, and this color guide bears his original handwritten signature.

In the early 1990s, imagine encountering a character straight out of hell, a towering Steampunk Kriegaffe bristling with bolts, a Nazi scientist's head suspended in mid-air, all set against the backdrop of a gothic laboratory infused with the dark essence of Mary Shelley's imagination. These elements instantly drew me into the whirlwind of Hellboy's first adventures.

Very cool with so many color codes written on it. The colors on this look simpler than how complex it really is.
