Description

Skaar: Son of Hulk #1 Pg 21-22 by Ron Garney. It was used as the cover for the 2nd printing too. An argument can be made that this issue sees the first full appearance of Skaar, with him as the main character of the entire comic.

It more than does its job as a climactic double page splash, seeing it as a cover means that the image was so well received that editors took notice. Very savage ax attack that uses fully the potential of Garney's artistic sensibilities for stunning violence.

Garney definitely embued quite some power in Junior - and super awesome this DPS was used as a reprint cover. Always a nice bonus!

After reading What if Planet Hulk 1 and World War Hulk 5, I agree that Skaar # 1 is definitely his first full story. WIPH only shows him in two tiny panels and WWH5 is the last page in a single panel. Would be nice to see CGC fix that on their labels. Great piece.
