Description

In this piece by John Romita Jr. (1979), the X-Men are depicted with the original design of the DAZZLER.

JRjr originally wanted to model Dazzler after actress/model Grace Jones; however, this idea was put on ice by film execs who wanted the then-proposed Dazzler film project to star Bo Derek (which is why we have the blond-haired, blue-eyed diva as of her debut).

This piece was for Neil Bogart (pictured in middle), studio exec and head honcho of CASABLANCA RECORDS, who were funding the Dazzler project.
