Description

Mark Millar and Rafael Albuquerque have teamed on a new comic Huck.

Huck is a super-powered, young man living in small town America. His life is simple and though he holds a regular job, he spends a lot of his time doing good deeds in the background. The towns folk know about his abilities, but choose to not talk about them and give Huck is privacy.

A new couple moves to town and they cannot resist the urge to sell Huck's secret to the papers/TV/magazines/cable news. These pages show the frenzy of the reporters as they reach his home, the puzzlement on his face as he looks out at the noise, and the clear shock when he realizes what has happened.

I loved this sequence and found it for sale on the Cadence Comic Art site. Lucky for me, they were having a sale and my wonder wife was inclined to buy all three pages.

I'm thrilled. I hope you enjoy them and that you'll check out the book.

P.S., Older comic art has the dialog lettered on the page the way it should be. This is newer art and the words are added using a computer to the scanned image. That said, this page interested me - in part - because no words are needed to understand it. That said, the words are:

First Panel page 21 - "It's okay, Mikey. I'm getting up! I'll feed you in a second, boy...") and

The last page - "Oh my gosh." Note the lack of an exclamation point.

That's it and even those words weren't necessary. I'll go so far as to say that they actually detract from the printed images.
