Description

This piece was published on page 14 of "The Art of John Byrne" published by S.Q. Production Inc. in 1980. Chalk it up to perseverance, blind luck or divine inspiration..but i literally stumbled into it seconds before I was leaving the '06 San Diego Comic con convention..my 1st in years... and heading back to the airport. I've loved this character in general and this image in particular since I saw it published in the Art of John Byrne some two decades ago..and I'm quite thrilled to own it. This alone made the cross county trip worth the expense.

How about SERENDIPITY? Well, whatever you call it, the piece itself is a beauty. And you're right, this DOES make the cross country trip worth it. Congrats Eric!

I always wondered where this piece was these days, after having seen it many years ago in the book as you did! One of my favorite Byrne sketches as well! Congrats!
