DescriptionThe initial cover drawing is penciled on tracing paper. I use tracing paper (or sometimes vellum, a heavier weight translucent paper) because in the sketch stage the many changes and alterations are made easier and faster by doing them on overlays instead constantly erasing and redrawing them. Sketches can take anywhere from a couple to a couple dozen overlays depending on the complexity of the piece and the number of characters or elements in the composition. This took three or four before I was happy with the final arrangement.Social/Sharing |

Excellent layout Joe. I am looking forward to seeing the progress on this piece. BTW, I have been a fan of yours for MANY years, and I actually recently referred to you as one of my influences on a different board.
