This painting was used as a cover for a German Phantom issued in the 1970's. Not sure who the artist is but it a lovely vibrant piece.

Very nice cover Paul ! It is a real pity that all the artists published in the German-Phantom, except the ones from SEMIC and F.lli SPADA are totally UNKNOWNs.

Thanks for the comment Romano. It is a great shame that more is not known. I think this piece may have been the prize for a competition in the Bastei Phantoms but I am having trouble finding information.
