DescriptionOk, I've wanted this piece for about as long as 'Fables' has existed. I'd never met Mark before, the only show he's done over the years is the Baltimore Con which I've never made it to. Then he finally went to Heroes last year and I was the one who missed it. This year, though, the moment he was announced on the guest list, I reached out to set this up.This is Snow White's dress from the end of the first arc of "Fables," which Mark didn't draw, but I loved the look and always wanted to see Mark's take on it. When I picked up the piece Mark said he was thrilled that I asked for it BECAUSE he didn't draw that arc and this way he got to finally play in that storyline a little bit. He talked to me about incorporating the background and floor from the original story itself, and also told me the story of why he didn't end up drawing this arc. "Fables" is one of my favorite comics of all-time, this is one of those pieces that isn't just a great piece of art, it genuinely moves me that it was created for me and my collection, and my memories of that great series of comics. Meeting Mark Buckingham is worth everyone's effort if you get the chance. He's a true gentleman. Social/Sharing |

I feel weird commenting since I own two pages (and love them) with Snow White wearing this dress, but I love the idea of having Mark's take on it. Lan Medina did a great job with it, but a Mark Buckingham version of the first arc is an interesting Fables "what if". Congrats on completing your Fables dream commission! And the scene isn't complete with the floor design, so glad to see Mark worked it in.

Thanks! I clipped images from the published version of your two pages when I was making reference to send over to Mark!
