DescriptionJóse Gonzalez drew this sometime prior to 2003 (if anyone has more info let me know) its a recreation (42" tall) of his famous Warren Vampirella door poster (also cover to issue #19).Like many who grew up reading Warren Vampirella, there were many artists who drew Vampi but Jóse Gonzalez was/is THE Vampirella art for me. I love the stories he did and when I think of Vampi Jóse's is the version that comes to mind. I remember seeing the ad for the Vampirella 6' door poster in the and immediately wanting to get it. I still have amy rolled copy of the poster. The published original was signed and attributed to Jóse but Enric painted the final published image. Jóse was a master at pencil ink, was but was not as comfortable with painting so Enric who shared a studio with him painted in Jóse style from an original pencil Jóse did. I figured I would never get to own the original, since its in the collection of a fellow CAF member. Even though its a recreation, its ALL by Jóse Gonzalez and I am thrilled to own an original of one of the iconic images of Vampirella. Thanks Gene!!!!! Social/Sharing |

This one is just stunning, Brian! I feel like this one is more than just a standard recreation given that it's all Pepe on his most famous image, whereas the original is a collaborative work. Plus, it's huge! It's truly a special piece - hope you enjoy it for years and years to come.

There are a few recreations of this painting around. None are even close to this one. And the fact that this is Jose exculsively, it is in a league all it's own. Best of luck with it!
