DescriptionThis is it. The holy grail of all holy grails. I cannot believe I got this. It all happened with good timing, and with the help of Stan's publisher, Tom Filsinger. I emailed his publisher earlier in the week, and he fortunately got back to me. If I bought a couple of the Election Daze books and got in front of the line, I might have a chance depending on his mood.I got to the Barned and Noble store 10 minutes after the store opened, where they were passing out wristbands. I somehow managed to get the last spot of the first group, Group A. I went back home, got a couple of books, and came back to the store and got back in line. But 2 people were ahead of me, and I managed to bribe them by giving an old Spidey comic and explaining that I was on a mission. With my printed response from Mr. Filsinger, I told the employees of Barnes and Noble that I wanted to acheive my dream of getting a Stan sketch. They verified the letter as real, and so allowed me to ask Stan. When I approached him, he was in a good mood, and was happy to sign my books. Then I said, Mr. Lee, I managed to get in contact with your publisher over the week (showed him the letter), and he said if I bought the books, got to the front of the line, I might be able to get a sketch from you. Stan's reply: I'm not an artist, I'm just a writer! But I said I've seen you doodle some Spidey sketches before on cards, and I know you can do it sir. So he looks at me, laughs, and grabs my sketchbook. He proceeds to draw out Spidey and while drawing it (and with people looking in awe), says people are gonna think I draw terribly when they see this. I said, It looks awesome Mr. Lee. And he said, Yes, people do say that about me. And then he was done. And my grail was complete. A Stan Lee sketch. Thanks to Tom, thanks to Barnes and Noble and a special thanks to Mr. Lee for adding to my collection! Social/Sharing |

very cool!... it's funny (and sad) there are people in this world that think Stan Lee actually used to draw comics! seriously!

That's a true gem...obviously not for it's artistic merit, but wow...I'm sooo envious!
