DescriptionThis sweet, early example of Cap Stubbs features both versions of the Tippie; the bulldog based on Edwina's magazine feature Sinbad, and the more familiar terrier version. The folks at the syndicate enjoyed the bulldog version of the dog, but felt that a long-haired version would gain in popularity. They were correct. But Edwina had the problem of how to swap one dog with another. She introduced a story arc in which the bulldog Tippie was found by a crippled boy. Cap felt that they had such a connection, that he didn't have the heart to take Tippie away, so he got a new Tippie. This daily mentions Lonny, the disabled boy, who is undergoing an operation.
