Description

This book was one of the last 3 books Jijé draw for Spirou magazine. After Lieutenant Blueberry success, he was asked to use a more detailed style with these books. The Canyon Girl was drawn from March to August of 1976, and was first published in Spirou magazine 1988. I still remember reading this story on the spanish Spirou magazine, and the cliffhanger at the end of the page. For those who don't know the author, he was master for many of the European comic artists, like Franquin, Morris or Giraud (Moebius).
The bottom tier is shorter than published. Probably plans changed when publishing and had some patch (whic is now lost) enlarging it. That patch caused the glue stains all over that lower strip. You can see the complete published page in additional images. Size is 47,5x42cm.

Very nice page. I don't know his later work so well and this page is really impressive. Great find.
