DescriptionHad a heck of a time getting this! Maybe my toughest deal ever. But am ecstatic about acquiring it as this was my “Jaws” before Jaws came out! Even though I was born on an island, after 1975 I was forever cautious if not downright fearful of the sandy, murky waters of the gulf. To a lesser, but no less memorable sense, after reading reprint Peanuts books I was forever changed as well. Like most kids back in the day I played little league, and ever since seeing this strip, I checked my glove. Shook it out. Still check all gloves… maybe not such a bad thing? So pleased to have one of the most memorable strips from my childhood featuring some of my childhood friends.Social/Sharing |

Never was that into baseball so while I recognize the baseball strips as classic they usually aren't my favorite Peanuts strips--but this is a great example! Great gag, and so cute the way Lucy and the other girl (the little red-haired girl?) talk in unison. And great vintage for Schulz art--his linework in the 60s is my favorite: his mature style with more weight to the line than he would move towards in later years. Congrats--and still want to hear more about the odyssey home!

I recommend vacuum sealing your underwear. Best not to take any chances.

Very cool baseball theme! Charlie Brown thrown for a loop with Lucy there is normally a football thing, so this is very unique.

Congratulations on this wonderful piece and glad it means this much to you!!!
The whole ordeal is my absolute worst collecting experience (How is it possible that USPS can legally auction off our package?), but I’m really happy that the artwork survived unharmed and finally is with you, where it belongs.
Thanks a lot to our fellow CAF-members, everyone was very kind and helpful during the whole experience…
