DescriptionThis may well be the last Batman drawing the legendary Marshall Rogers ever drew. i commissioned it a few weeks before his passing and recieved it about a week before he died. I still get choked up when I look at it. Marshall was and will forver be a legend.Social/Sharing |

Nothing like a classic!! WOW!! Do I dig the details and the perspective shot in this picture. Very sweet job done by the Great Marshall Rogers!! Another fine addition!

Completely amazing. I don't have words for this and considering it might be the last Rogers ever did only adds more history to it. I hope a book is being done on Marhall's career -- he certainly deserves one.

With the sad history behind this one, it may be the grandest piece in your incredible Batman collection.

Sigh. There is a sadness to looking at this. If it is Marshall's last Batman, he certainly put everything he had into it. For a happier thought, I can only add that he lives on through his art and I thank you for allowing us to share it together.

Judgfing by this fantastic piece, Rogers certainly was still in his prime art-wise when he created it . Too bad he wasn't as healthy physically.

Congrats on a wonderful piece! I'm not so sure that it was one of his last Batman pieces though. I read that he had just finished the pencils to issue one to the sequel to Batman Dark Detective.

I always liked Marshal's Batman but it was the backgrounds he did that surprised me. He would put more detail than almost anyone into his buildings, and this piece shows it. A great draftsman... he will be missed.

This piece is an excellent example of Marshall's work on The Batman! The flowing cape, the architectural detail- It's all there!

In many way's Marshall was my favorite Batman artist. There are other's whose work on Batman I really enjoyed like Adams and Aparo, but Marshall's run was my favorite. He was high on my commission list before he passed. That made me sad on lots of levels. Congratulations on this piece.

Masterful work, and really poignant provenance. It's sad and uplifting at the same time, if that's possible.

Marshall Rogers was a true gentleman to the end. Who else would have fullfilled his obligations under these circumstances? A fantastic achievement.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marshall at the conventions and thought I was happy with the couple of convention pieces that I had him do but after seeing this I realize that I missed out on so much more! Still happy but I know who's happier! Big congrats on this piece

This is definitely one of the finest Batman commissions I've seen from Marshall from any time period and your thoughtful comments are a fitting tribute to a legendary creator. Congratulations on a magnificent acquisition!

It's artwork like this that shows that comics should be considered a true artform. A truly beautiful piece by the GREATEST BATMAN ARTIST EVER. Plus Marshall was one of the kindest men that I've met in the industry.

I miss this run of the Batman in Dectective Comics! That crew brought me back into buying Batman comics in my teens when Batman And Dective got too bland for me in the mid to late 70's! All i bout was Justice League and marvel. Then that Hugo Strange Story drew me in. I was so dissapointed that ended after the Clay Face III story! SIGH! Larry

Beautiful. Gotham itself always was the other character in Rogers's Batman.
