Description

I loved Warren Ellis and Mike Deodato's run on Thunderbolts! It was so fun to root for the bad guys, and even more fun to root for them to fail. Here's a great page with American Eagle, Nightshade and Steel Spider, the "team" that gave the Thunderbolts a hard time on their second public outing.

Terrific page! The Warren Ellis / Mike Deodato 'Thunderbolts' run was a game changer for me (sort of the Anti-Nextwave), taking the initial brilliant Busiek / Bagley concept to a new level (and sharpening it to a dangerous point). I certainly wasn't ready for the thrill to end when they wrapped the all-too-brief run, and when Bendis picked up the ball and continued the love in his epic 'Dark Avengers' run (along with Deodato, of course!) I was over the moon. This fantastic page is setting the stage for the upcoming throwdown beautifully, masterfully moving all the puzzle pieces into place to make things hard for our "heroes"... Incredible perspective in the top and bottom panels. Beautiful, Doc - congrats!
