Description

Sad story here. I had commissioned Mr. Aparo to do a drawing for me through "The Artist's Choice" website. Shortly afterwords he had health issues and was forced to cancel my commission. He sent me this sketch that he had done previously as an apology. He died not too long after that. My opinion is Jim Aparo is one of the under appreciated silver/bronze age greats, and was obviously a very classy guy.

Mr Aparo remains a legend! A sad loss to the world of comics. This Batman sketch is nicely iconic.... Thanks for posting.

Aparo also did pencils AND inks AND lettering on his Brave and the Bold work. And met his deadlines. And yes, way underappreciated. I spent a lot of time copying his style as a kid. Great piece.

Mr Aparo was a workhorse. And a talented artist. I do miss his work.
