DescriptionHow many ways can one page of comic book art be pleasing to me? Let me count them! This is a page from one of my all-time favorite series, Grant Morrison's New X-Men. I've made it a goal to collect a page from each artist to contribute to this magnificent series, and the face-melting teamup of JP Leon and Bill Sienkiewicz is among the last and most epic to cross off my list. As the years have gone by, I have only seen 2 other New X-Men pages from this art team, and one of those is in a collection marked NFS. This issue in particular made Xorn one of my favorite characters in all comicdom. I love that this page features Xorn twice, along with the rest of the riot assignment team (Scott and Jean) in that awesome bottom left panel. I am embarking upon a yearlong continuous fist pump in celebration of acquiring this page. I could go on, and perhaps later I shall.Social/Sharing |

Love it! This was one of my favorite stories in the run. The collaboration between JPL and Billsin worked perfectly. Did you buy this from John Paul himself? Also reminds me that I have to upload the John Paul Leon page I got in the mail yesterday! --vic

Great page ! Morrison really made me an X-fan ! Too bad MARVEL ditched most of his brilliant inventions. Marvel was probably afraid of evolution...(of the comics that is). Thanks for sharing this !

Super page from a terrific story, and you're not kidding - that bottom row of panels is killer, and those preceeding them really ratchet up the mood and tension caused by the angry mob. Both penciller and inker look to be having a great time on this project... I would have loved to have seen even more from them! :)

Jason, thank you so much for your kind words! I spoke to JP once about this collaboration with Bill, and JP was hoping Bill would treat the pencils as layouts. JP was hoping Bill would "go to town" and "do his thing." When I talked to Bill about their collaboration a few years later, he said he loved JP's pencils so much that he had to ink them as is. Mutual admiration society!
