DescriptionI was lucky enough to be able to grab one of the 10 special editions of IDW’s outstanding compilation of 7 issues of Walt Simonson’s historic Thor run. What made this edition special was that Walt agreed to do a one character sketch (of your choice) on the cover!I’ve seen three others posted to CAF so far, and they all look great. From what I’ve seen, Walt’s work is as sharp as ever. It’s my understanding that most everyone asked for Thor or Beta Ray Bill. Good choices every one of them. Me? I chose to be a bit different. I chose the character that played a key role during the run, and was spotlighted in one of the arcs in the IDW book. Social/Sharing |

Good Lord - could this have come out any better?! Looks like Walt is way still on top of his game. Seriously impressive.

This is my favorite out of all the ones I've seen. Hela was an inspired choice. All that detailing from her outfit to the cape makes this stand out. Great choice and great art by Simonson.

Did the people behind you in line sign uncomfortably when they heard you asking for the character with the most complicated/detailed costume ever??? Great art and inspired choice!

All of the remarques were done on a commission basis. So, there were months of elapsed time between my request for Hela and the book showing up in my hot little hands!

Agreed that Simonson hasn't lost a step. He certainly seemed to enjoy drawing your little Hela over here. Congratulations on a sweet commission from an artist who is known for not doing them.
