Description

Didn't know it was still available, but seemingly it waited for me ^^ - When I had it in and held it in my hands, I fell silent, struck with awe. It's just a feeling a Turner piece gives you, when holding it in hands. Details likeTHIS you don't find anymore these days and the silouhette story telling to the right, I dunno why, but I just love that.
When I have a new piece of art in (dunno if it'S just me or if more of you guys are doing that, too ^^) I just need to gently run over the art with my fingertips and feel the unevenness of the inks. Always puts a smile on my face :)
Besides, it still has a high emotional value, it's a page from my very first comic book I bought. And which started this massive comic and art addiction *grins* - oh, NFS btw ;)

This is a perfect example of what a master story-teller Michael was with art. The first and second panels are pretty straight-forward how to read, but then it get's a bit iffy... or rather -it might've been, had anyone else been given the task. Here it's obvious straight away -Lara's left hand sticking into the second panel guides the eye up to her head and the two parachutes, the darker side of the pyramid then leads your eye down to the male silhouette, and then up to Lara where you then are made aware of the white with the two climbing down into the pyramid. As that panel is widening and merges into the second to last panel it's very natural to progress into that, and finally there's the last panel. Really great layout. Actually, the whole issue us full of master-layouts like this. There's the double spread with the two escaping the pyramid that's also a prime example of how good Michael was with laying out panels. Congrats on a great catch.
