DescriptionI didn't read this title when it came out but always thought the art was very nice so picked this example with two primary Bettie shots - one full body and one close-up - back in 2017.I didn't post it immediately, so it sat on my flash drive until I heard Mr. Silke passed - I didn't realize what an interesting career he had until reading the obituaries. I never met him but heard only great things. Social/Sharing |

RIP Jim Silke. He was already up there in stature when he did this series which required someone with a fine appreciation for Bettie. This has the classic 50's travelogue style of exotic locale and even more exotic beauty of Bettie making the her more glamorous than usual!

So, so, sad reading of his passing. Every time I saw him as at a con, he seemed like the kindest, gentlest, man. And always greeted you with a warm smile. And of couse so wonderfully talented.

I absolutely enjoyed his published work in the '90s. Can clearly see why he & Dave Stevens had mutual respect for each others work. He led an impressive and full Life. Thanks for posting

Sweeeet! Gorgeous page from Jim Silke's "Bettie Page, Queen of the Nile." Boy I haven't seen too many of these on CAF. But this one is totally a blast! I mean, it's a funny premise--An errant time machine accidently teleports Bettie Page is to Ancient Egypt, where she battles High Priest Amon Ra and a lovesick mummy. Love this page you picked up, with two great panels of Bettie--One full length body panel and one tight close-up of her beautiful face. The art is fantastic, as we've come to expect from Jim Silke. What a fantastic pick-up, congrats!

You made the 13th comment so I need to reply to get us past that unlucky number - and, of course, you wrote a great comment, and now folks, including me, will know the plot of the story!
