Description

Page 71 of Dave McKean's and Neil Gaiman's seminal work, published 1994.
Height x width: About 59 cm x 42 cm (or 23,2" x 16,5").

Mr. Punch was ... well, new. A graphic novel. I started off with the German publication, and still this work was complex, with bits that I kind-of got immediately (the more "realistic" the scene was), and throwing me into a bowl of questions trying figure out what actually happened. (And yes, that was not the perfect approach to this magical thing).

And I love me the analog work. Putting this page next to the published work gave me (yet again) a greater appreciation of McKean's process.

Many, many thanks for Marc Mokken, who allowed me a decade to realize what a treasure was still there waiting for me.

Great page. Classic combination of McKean and Gaiman, in McKean iconic drawing style!! Congrats!

Definitely a Vertigo classic and a must for Gaiman fans as it follows the themes he had established in his other works of mysterious lost memories. McKean's design of the entire package of the graphic novel was one of his best in sequential storytelling as we see here with the many diferent ways he can show the characters.
