DescriptionWho would be interested in an X-Men page with virtually no X-Men on it? This page is from X-Men #9, which is the first full meeting of the two teams. Individuals had crossed over in Tales of Suspense #49 and Avengers #3, but here the two teams were in action! The X-Men and Avengers are just getting their feet under them as Stan and Jack are starting to build the Marvel Universe ... History right in your hands! CONGRATS!!!!!

The fact that I'm not at all surprised to see this amazing page in your gallery probaby says it all about you and your collection. This is certainly one of the best Avengers pages from this classic issue. All these years and you still continue to astound me.

This is Marvel magic! The early corssovers stengthened the whole of the Marvel Universe and made for greater excitement because they'd often fight each other first before teaming up. Jack and Chic made the Avengers look like rock stars, ready to take on the X-Men!

Sinnott andRoyer are my favourite Kirby inkers, but I have to say that, at least during the 60's, Chic Stone was right up there as well!

"Suddenly--it's Thor!" --with random new Hammer-sensor powers just because we need to get the Avengers to Slovenia or wherever. These comics are more fun than a two-tailed stoat!

I sold my copy of the original comic years ago but I might just (If I had any) hang onto the art. Who is this Kirby guy? He might go places. Lol.

What a great page! I love these early X-men and Avengers issues. It seems like every page has classic scenes that, like a favorite song, click in my head every time I see one. Here, that scene of Thor landing in panel two is one that instantly brings back memories. And who could forget that seemingly unimportant, but incredibly memorable moment in panel six when a random driver in an open roadster stops to ask directions and is surprised when he sees the group he's stopped by. And of course, we all remember the panel on the next page (which isn't even here) when he speeds off without even saying goodbye. These early Marvel issues had so many classic scenes that stick in our heads. (Mine anyway. Great pick-up, congrats!

A better Avengers page than many Avengers' pages at that time! A page from that issue would be a real grail for me!
