Description

A piece arranged through Felix Comic Art in 2017, when James decided to take a limited number of commissions. These were basically artist's choice pieces, but commissioners could request an animal and a mood, if I recall correctly. I suggested "peacock" and "melancholy," and this was the end result. The linework on the piece is exquisite.

This image was subsequently used for a time limited print release, entitled "Max Pipe," which was produced later that year with a final edition size of 793. I believe this was the first of his timed release prints to incorporate sculpted elements and holographic foil stamping.

Wow, this is just something else. I've heard about these James Jean commissions, but it's amazing seeing what he was able to create based off of two word prompts. Huge congrats!
