DescriptionI find myself drawn to comic art originals that reflect periods of history like Prohibition or the great Depression. I owned this wonderful Muggs McGinnis strip many years ago, then stupidly sold it to fellow collector Roger Clark. Roger recently offered it up for sale, so, having a chance at redemption, I snapped it back up. So now the gag is that we'll simply keep selling it back and forth to each other. But I digress. Wally Bishop has never been known as a great artist, but during this period, when he was doing his riff on Percy Crosby's Skippy, he was pretty darn good. This daily, from 2/25/31, pulls at the heart-strings, even with a bit of humor. Thanks Roger!Social/Sharing |
