This art commission has a very special place in my collection. I�m an eighties kid and grew up with all things baseball. It wasn�t till I visited my cousin�s house and saw his comic collection that I would be interested in anything else. It blew my mind. All types of Marvel and DC comics he had in his basement. Today his comic collection would be worth a fortune.

I was actually drawn to a Specific book he had. It was the Amazing Spider Man #250 drawn by the Legendary John Romita Jr in 1983. That issue sparked my interest in all things Spidey.

Over the years I�ve gotten to meet him and obtain many sketches from him. I�m happy that I can also call my childhood idol a friend as well.

I�ve told him over the years I would like to get from him a variation of that classic cover. Changed it up to have Spidey fighting Batman some day. He said it would be a great idea and would do it for me when his schedule allows. During that time period he has happened to co created the book and movie Kick Ass and eventually moved to DC to do some work on Batman and other characters.

Fast forward to now. This was originally was supposed to be completed for SDCC but a mixup got delayed to LA comic con. I had a good friend pick this up for and it blew my mind. I even was able to track down a copy of the book of which this commission was inspired by and it was already autographed by John.

If you�ve read this far thanks for putting up with me and this story. I�m amazed at his talent spanning decades and he�s still going strong.
