I think Larry decided instead to fly Allred to his home to paint one of these and still saved on shipping.

If this had just been a smidge smaller, the bidding would have been hot and heavy, and I would have been right in the middle of it. As it is, this incredible, MANTLE CAPABLE piece and badge art has found the right home. Congrats Bill! Absolutely sublime.

I'm most impressed by the screen tone effect on such a large scale. Those look much smaller than pseudo Ben Day dots a la Lichtenstein.

Wow! What a stunning piece by Mike Allred! Beautiful image of the Surfer flying through the cosmos with the lovely Dawn Greenwood on his board. Gorgeous color palette with the cool blues and greens and purples contrasting with the cool white of Norrin Radd and the vivid red of Dawn. Another great OAX pick-up, congrats Bill!

Loved this piece since the first time I saw it on the OAX auction preview. LT is one heck of a nice guy, and Allred is one heck of a talented artist. Looks great on your mantle. But I hope there's a framing job in the works. Congrats Bill.
