Hey Doyle, how's it hanging?
Mr. Davis has sent me a variety of comic art to work on over the last few months from his collection. When I recieved this piece, I did a lot of homework and couldn't come up with the character. So being the trusting sole that he is Doyle left it up to me to come up with both a color scheme and a background. It is always interesting to finish another artist's work and in this case I had to figure out a character storyline to go with it.
I studied the chest logo and decided to take a slight spin off of "National Treasure". But I will leave the rest to the people that view this piece to decide if he is the goodguy or the bad man.
I also found that drawing "treasure" was both time comsuming and a challenge, but was really, really fun. I added each piece, one at a time, penciled it then inked and colored as I went. And in the spirit of the treasure hunt, can you find all the pieces that Indiana Jones has searched for?
This piece was worked up on 11"x14", smooth Bristol Board. The central figure was penciled by Mike Leeke and inked by Mr. Keith Aiken. Everything else, I added and finished and I can only hope that Mr. Davis and Mr. Leeke are happy with the final product. ENJOY!
