DescriptionThis does not need much explanation. Miki Annamanthadoo to whom I owe a huge debt of gratitude summed it up succinctly when he said. "If you were a Legion fan as a kid, this poster hung on your wall...if you are a Legion collector, this is a GRAIL ". So many kind folks helped make this possible, starting with Paul. I am both a Legion and Giffen fan but this represents an outpouring of generous spirits that is not always seen in this hyper-competitive hobby of ours. And a big THANK YOU to Russ Payne who pulled these 4 separate pages into one very cool digital image as well as bringing the 6 additional pages of character reference guides into one large image. The character guides were published when the Great Darkness Saga was released as a Trade Paperback. The legendary Arthur Lewandowski and a bunch of Legion fans got together at a Con and helped name every character prior to publication. A labour of love indeed. Legion fans are THE BEST ! None of us had a clue that it even existed. It popped up on Ebay in late June, with a "Buy It Now " Price for what it was, that was quite low $6000 ( but still expensive for someone like me ) . One Legion fan notified a few of us,and after a few moments of quick discussion another Legion fan helped me out financially and several months of interest free payments later, I am the proud caretaker. This art is magnificent in and of itself but also a tribute to the spirit of friendship.

Sometimes the comic art seems to find the perfect home, is there any collector that would appreciate this fine beauty as much as our fine friend Aidan? I think not! I always smile when these deals happen, what a hobby!!! Glad to here that your buds looked out for you and helped you land this GRAIL! This piece is simply outstanding, I bet you spend hours getting lost in this insanely detailed piece by the very talented Mr. Giffen and Mr Mahlstedt!!! CONGRATS!!! : )

It will cost a fortune to do it right under archival glass but it will be framed along with the original colour poster with a handy reference guide. I plan to have it hanging on a wall by Christmas.

I saw this the morning it went up. I wanted to click BIN so bad because the price was very reasonable. But I had to think about the aftermath of dropping 6k. Lots of backstory to the piece. Congrats.

This is truly amzing! As an inker I know the tremendous challenge of working on a page with many characters. The clean brush work and expertly place blacks really give each character life and just pull all four pages together with uncommon clarity. Giffen as always, makes what should be seen as a Herculian feat look easy as pie. True genius on display with this piece.

Just....mind boggling. I'm always in awe that there are collectors that own such magnificent art! Part of me knows that one day there will be a comics museum- and this will surely be on display, and part of me knows that if anyone deserves it in their collection, it's you! I bet you can name them all too!

To get a Giffen Legion piece is a bit of a challenge. To get the absolute best piece that he ever did, with his best inker, at the absolute height of his abilities with basically every single character simply boggles the mind. A tremendous piece, I am envious, but so very happy for you at the same time. Congratulations on getting a true grail!

I just bought a new place and finally have enough wall space to do the art and the end product poster justice. Even those in my circle who are not CAF'ers have marveled at the complexity of the layout.
