Description

My single purchase from the last Comic Art Live is this portrait of Serra from Tellos by creator Mike Wieringo. I spotted this early Saturday morning and tried to resist after making other art purchases recently. It was still available on Sunday afternoon and I knew I would regret passing it up. My friend John purchased a Nausicaa and Spirited Away drawings from Mike on my behalf. I�m happy to have one of Mike�s characters.

Wieringo was one of the first to do pencils only for his published work and it shows here as this has a finished look for most of the drawing. The shading as well as the varying lineweights of his pencils had an inker's mentality.

One of my favorite artists ever. Beautiful sensibilities, a huge touch of class to everything, he could do no wrong and seldom did. Love this! Congrats!

This certainly caught my eye during CAF-Live as well. Ended up going another direction. A very classy piece. Nice score.

I had my eye on this during CALive too, but you can't go wrong with Mike drawing Serra. Congrats!
