Description

This is my very first piece of original comic book art, purchased from The Spider's Web circa 1998. This was the store Todd part-owned, so they had a bunch of his art around still. When I called they said all the good Spidey art was gone, but there was some decent Hulk pages left, including this one, so I jumped at it:) I think it's a fun page with some cool Hulk shots, and was really when Todd was hitting his prime and inking his own work. A fun piece:)

The best part though may be the experience of buying a page of original art in 1998 while in college! First off, the pages weren't handy. They were in storage. So after contacting the store I needed to wait months for him to pull pages out and see what they had! I was given a list of books and page numbers only. No scans back then. I did not have the books with me in college, nor was there the internet to find a copy. Luckily at the mall was a store with the Gammatown trade paperback. I couldn't afford to buy the book, so I would write notes of page descriptions, go to the pay phone in the mall, call The Spider's Web, compare notes, then repeat a couple times until I picked a page. A 3-4 months process to acquire one page:)

Great piece Jason... I have myself a nice Hulk title page by McFarlane in my collection, and YES he has done a really great work on his run :))

Todd was in prime form in the early 340s of this series. Great page!
