Description

When I first saw this pencil sketch back in 2006 Ed Benes became one of my favorite artist. Too bad he doesn't illustrate for Marvel as well. I've always wanted to ink it but there were already a few versions of the inked work. Inspired by the upcoming new Spider-Woman series in November, I thought I'd give my own inked version because I'll eventually color it and mock it up as a cover. Upon examining the pencil sketch I notice Benes included SW's glider-webs and most of the inked variations did not include it. I went ahead and also included the emblem on the back of her costume that was in the original design (MS32) as well as Leialoha's re-design of the lines in the back.

With all the controversy around the MANARA variant for the new Spider-Woman series coming this fall, I thought about mocking-up the BENES piece with less "hoopla."
