Description

The last 8 years, most everything I owned was in storage half a country away. Been slowly unpacking everything, and was just reunited with this small piece of heaven that I got at auction about 15 years ago.

PAN AND FORTUNE by WILLIAM BLAKE - The summarized certificates of appraisal/authenticity have this as a first state original engraving hand-pulled in London during the year 1793 from copper plate onto fibrous wove paper having a worm patina consistent with papers from the late 18th century, leaving a very fine, even, and clear impression trimmed well outside the plate.

Published as an illustration in the book Fables by John Gay.
