Description

Instagram led me from animation artist Brianne Drouhard to Character Lead Warner Bros Animation Kat Hudson. I found her guest appearance on the Pencil to Pencil YouTube video with cartoonists Jamar Nicholas and Mike Manley. Kat told great stories of her professional journey from Mississippi to Atlanta to Hollywood. DC Superhero Girls producer Lauren Faust wanted her to do character design for the series. I found her Kat Hudson Art store and purchased this Catwoman piece done with Copic markers and gel pens.

She's a great talent and you can see her influence in a lot of the shorts and television animation shows. The exaggerated limbs, big eyes and small lips bring a joy to the characters' movements.

I really wish I had picked up more of her art at the first Lightbox expo. She was wonderful to chat with and is a rising star for sure. Huge congrats!
