DescriptionHarvey Tolibao is such an amazing artist. I got a chance to meet him at OAX, and he was so happy when I told him I was the one who owned a piece that was in his sketchbook. He showed me this Captain America piece he had for sale, but I didn't pick it up at that time. Sadly, by the time I came back later in the weekend the piece was gone. I really didn't think about the piece again until I got a package in the mail 3 weeks after OAX.... I had no idea what it was as I wasn't expecting anything. So I opened it, and this piece was there, with a note from the amazing Ronald Shepherd... He is such a great, friendly guy, and we had finally met in person at OAX after talking to each other for a while on a lot of the YouTube shows, and the fact that he thought about me and decided to pick up this piece and send it to me as a gift was incredibly thoughtful and so appreciated! This is what the hobby is all about!! Thank you Ronald!!!Social/Sharing |

This is a great sketch!, Harvey consistently knocks it out of the park with these! It would also look really nice next to a certain Cap Splash...... just kidding.
....unless...?

Look, the art is cool and all, but there's no way I'm going to focus on that when it's so much more important to point out how great the camaraderie is within this hobby and Ron, who is such a nice guy, deserves these public kudos for what he did for you, Alberto. Congratulations, and good on YOU, Ron!

Aww, a beautiful piece and a beautiful story, to boot! The friendly thoughtfulness and camaraderie we find in this hobby is something to be admired, for sure!

Ronald Shepard totally deserved a Best of CAF 2023. He's always been a stalwart of the CAF sketchbook with the most entries every month and his sketchcover collection posted on CAF dominates the category. His claims on the EXP shows probably kept it going during the early lean period and shaped the way they still continue to support artists doing sketchcovers for them to sell and expand that segment of the hobby. A Cap piece by Harvey is a no brainer claimer. You must have been distracted by your Dynamite Comics Ken Haeser art.

Well played Ronald. And Harvey art makes great gifts. Christmas is coming! (Hint hint early shoppers, get a Harvey request in now for that collector you love.)
